Little Sprout Café Head Baker - Communitas Supportive Care Society is seeking a Part-Time Head Baker in Abbotsford, BC. This position involves working in a café, focused on baking, including days when the Chef is away. The position will involve various kitchen duties. This will include preparing baked offerings, designing and costing baking programs, baking and food prep, kitchen cleaning, and using small and large kitchen appliances in accordance with their safety procedures and manufacturer’s instructions.
Position requirements include: Successful completion of a baking program certificate or related experience; experience with and comfortable with placing orders and inventory management; experience with Marketman an asset; proof of full COVID-19 vaccination; excellent computer skills; physically able to lift 20lbs or more; ability to model appropriate behavior for trainees; must be able to provide own transportation to and from work

K-9 Online Learning Teacher
CHEK ABC is a K-12 Provincial Online Learning School (POLS), providing fully accredited, Christian education to students in BC. We have approximately 500 students in both online and home education programs in Kindergarten to Grade 12.
CHEK ABC is currently looking for BC passionate and professional Christian certified teachers to work with families and students and provide guidance and support via individualized, online, and face-to-face learning options in our K-9 enrolled program.
Work is mostly done remotely from home, but some travel may be required to meet families and set up a home learning program for students. Teachers are responsible for planning and implementing student learning plans, having regular communication with students and parents, the assessment of student work and writing of report cards, and the processes that accompany these tasks. Classroom teaching in a local learning center may be a possibility depending on the local student’s needs.
Candidates need to have good interpersonal, communication and organization skills, be able to work independently, and have an understanding of Christian home education. Having strong technical skills is also an asset.
A valid BC teaching certificate is required.
The salary range is based on student load and runs from $1,063-$1,467 per regular student.

'Explorations' is a free after-school program being offered by BBBSFV for youth in grades 4 & 5. This program is offered in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Maple Ridge.
The main goal of the Explorations Program is to provide a fun, safe place for young people to gather, and to learn about themselves and others. In addition, the program strives to achieve the following key objectives:
- Provide youth with the skills and support they need to cultivate personal wellness and growth
- Create a positive environment for youth to develop new friendships
- Promote healthy decision-making skills
- Guide youth in learning to strengthen self-esteem and self-awareness
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The 'Explorations' Program is an 8-week program that runs once a week, for 2 hours, for 8 consecutive weeks. The program is a co-leadership model with 2-3 volunteer group leaders. Each session is structured around short discussion pieces that supplement the key learning objectives which are primarily accomplished through fun, interactive games, activities, and creative crafts.
