About Darian

Darian AtwoodAs the Pastor of Student Ministries, I get the amazing privilege to work alongside a group of leaders where we walk alongside and disciple students (Grades 6-12) as we all chase after Jesus Christ together. We are excited to see students go deeper into their faith, bringing their family, friends, and neighbours along with them. My time on staff at South Abbotsford Church has been a huge blessing, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to seeing how God will use myself and the team as tools to help further his Kingdom through Student Ministries.

I am originally from a small town in Southern Alberta called Fort Macleod. I spent a lot of time serving at both church and summer camp where I grew a huge heart for Jesus and ministry. I moved to Abbotsford and attended Columbia Bible College. There, I completed a degree in Biblical Studies with a minor in Church Ministry, while simultaneously being greatly involved in South Abbotsford Church’s Student and Family Ministries.

I am married to Madison, my best friend and greatest encourager.

When I am not at the church, I can typically be found hanging out with my friends. I enjoy spending quality time with the people I love by going on random adventures or playing fun games with them. I also really enjoy playing basketball, watching movies, playing video games, playing music, longboarding, playing board games, and drinking a nice cup of coffee.

My deepest desire is for students to understand that they are so loved and welcomed by Jesus. That idea changed my life as a teenager, and I know it will continue to change more lives. It is my prayer that the students will grow to fully know this, and for them to share that truth with their friends. I see a new generation of believers that will do radical things for the Kingdom of God.
