Who Are We?
We are a church in Abbotsford.
For a long time, Christians have been confused about this.
But Church is people, not a building (although we have a nice one).
South Abbotsford Church is a group of people that's been gathering in Abbotsford, BC, since 1932. Those early Mennonite pioneers managed to create a community that continues to exist as a vibrant, growing church today. Their faithfulness and sacrifices are part of our rich and lasting heritage.
To find out more, see below to find out what kind of community we are trying to build.

South Abbotsford Church
We're just a bunch of people who have been transformed by Jesus.
In many ways, we're a strange mix of people. Young and old. Rich and poor. All demographics and ethnicities. People from Abbotsford and surrounding areas. But we are connected by this one thing: our love for Jesus.
We aren't perfect by any stretch, but we encountered Jesus and began to find hope in this story of how He came and gave His life to rescue us while we were stuck in the mess of our lives. We've been changed by His living presence in us, making us into His ambassadors of love.
We would love for you to join us.

We feel privileged to have a such an amazing team of people working full time to see to the pastoral care and support of our church community.

Gathering for encouragement & encounter then scattering into our everyday lives to be a light. Becoming apprentices of Jesus. Learning the rhythms of His ways. Becoming like Him.
This is stuff we care about
Our church is led by all sorts of people using their gifts and abilities to equip the church.

Some of these people step into the formal role of serving as Council and Deacons, as well as leading our ministries.

We all believe something about God. This belief shapes how we live, what we do, and how we relate to others.
Our shared beliefs are deeply shaped by how we understand the Bible and a long history of traditions and relationships that have formed us.
